BYD Smart Charging and Home Preconditioning

Plan charging and cabin preparation around your routine where the linked vehicle exposes the required controls. BYD Connect combines charge scheduling, climate timers and Home-aware preconditioning with explicit safety checks.

What you can do

Schedules that reflect vehicle capabilities

Supported vehicles can expose charge windows, repeat days, smart-charge state and departure information. Climate timers can start the cabin at a selected temperature and duration. BYD Connect reads capability flags before presenting or sending these commands.

Battery heating is available only when reported by the vehicle. Stopping a charge is labelled experimental because BYD does not expose one consistently reliable stop-charge command across models.

Home preconditioning adds a location check

Save a Home place, choose weekdays, time and temperature, and optionally store an encrypted command PIN. The server checks the car's reported location before sending the climate command so a Home routine is not intentionally run elsewhere.

Vehicle connectivity, GPS freshness, BYD service availability and command support can still affect execution. Confirm important schedules in the vehicle.

Frequently asked questions

Can BYD Connect schedule charging?

On supported vehicles it can manage charge start, end or repeat schedules and the reported smart-charge state.

What is Home preconditioning?

It is an optional climate routine that checks the car is at a saved Home place before sending a scheduled climate command.

Does every model support battery heating?

No. Battery heat, charge scheduling and other commands depend on vehicle, firmware, market and BYD account capabilities.
