How to Calculate BYD Charging Cost per km
The useful charging-cost question is not only what one session cost, but how that cost flows into each kilometre driven. A good calculation needs the electricity rate, energy delivered, charging losses and the trips associated with that energy.

- Include charger efficiency instead of assuming every grid kWh reaches the battery

- Compare fixed, historical-average and last-charge cost models
Start with cost per kWh
For a home charge, multiply grid energy by the tariff for that time period. If the car reports energy added to the battery rather than energy drawn from the wall, account for charger losses. A 90% efficient session needs roughly 11.1 kWh from the wall to add 10 kWh to the pack.
For public charging, the receipt total is usually better than a default rate because session fees, time fees and idle fees can change the effective price.
Convert energy cost into trip cost
A fixed model applies one configured energy price. A historical-average model smooths all recorded charges. A dynamic model applies the most recent charge price before the drive. The right choice depends on whether you want a stable ownership average or the best estimate for a particular trip.
