BYD Charging Cost Tracker
Turn charge sessions into the number owners actually want: what the car costs to run. BYD Connect combines charging history with your electricity rates to calculate cost per kWh, trip cost and cost per kilometre.
What you can do
- Home, off-peak, work, public AC and DC charging rates
- Cost per kWh, cost per kilometre and monthly totals
- Automatic connected charge sessions plus manual or CSV entries
- Saved charger locations, charging insights and remembered rates
Use the price that matches the charge
Set a fixed rate, use a historical average, or apply the last charge price before a trip. Different charger profiles let you separate a cheap home wallbox from public rapid charging instead of flattening everything into one unrealistic average.
Charging losses and incomplete vehicle data can affect the result. Configure battery size, SoH and charger efficiency for a more useful estimate, and replace an estimate with the actual amount paid when you have it.
Build a useful ownership-cost history
Charges appear beside trips in Activity and Calendar views, so energy use and spending can be reviewed together. Charge data can also be imported and exported for owners who already keep a spreadsheet or want a backup.
Charging insights summarize free energy, price ranges, equivalent battery cycles, daily needs, charging habits and potential off-peak savings when enough history is available.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an off-peak home tariff?
Yes. Create or edit a charger type with your off-peak price and expected charging efficiency.
Can I enter the actual price of a public charge?
Yes. A charge can use the amount you actually paid rather than a default rate.
Does BYD Connect calculate cost per kilometre?
Yes. The selected cost model is applied to trip energy so you can compare cost per kilometre across your history.
