How to Sync BYD Live Data to ABRP
A Better Routeplanner can use live vehicle data instead of a guessed starting percentage. BYD Connect can forward supported BYD telemetry to ABRP in the background after you paste a Generic Live Data token.

Why BYD owners use ABRP live data
A Better Routeplanner (ABRP) plans EV routes and charging stops. Without live data it assumes a starting State of Charge. With a Generic Live Data connection it can use the car's reported battery percentage, estimated range and last known position.
BYD's official app does not offer a first-party ABRP link. BYD Connect fills that gap with an optional token. The integration is unofficial and independent of both BYD Auto and A Better Routeplanner.
How to get your ABRP Generic Live Data token
Open the ABRP app or go to abetterouteplanner.com and sign in. Open your vehicle settings from the profile or avatar menu. Choose Live Data or Modify connections, then open Generic and copy the UUID token.
The token is personal. Do not share it in screenshots or owner groups. If it leaks, generate a new token in ABRP and replace the saved value in BYD Connect.
Paste the token in BYD Connect
Sign in to BYD Connect, link the BYD account for that vehicle, then open Settings. In the A Better Routeplanner panel, paste the token and tap Save. BYD Connect encrypts the token and never shows it again.
Tap Send test now after a live status refresh. A successful test means ABRP accepted the payload. If the token is rejected, paste a new Generic token. BYD Connect stops retrying a rejected token until you replace it.
What is sent, and what is not
When a fresh connected sample arrives, BYD Connect can send State of Charge, GPS coordinates, estimated battery range, speed, odometer, charging and parked state, outside and cabin temperatures, climate setpoint, and available tyre pressures. Missing fields are omitted rather than invented.
Instantaneous power, current, voltage, pack temperature, heading, elevation and State of Health are not sent. ABRP will not auto-calibrate consumption from this feed. Live SoC, position and range are the useful inputs for the current plan.
How often data updates
Updates follow BYD Connect's connected sampling, not an every-few-seconds ABRP ideal. The car must be reachable through BYD's connected service. Parked or asleep cars send less often. If the BYD account stays linked, forwarding can continue while BYD Connect is closed.
ABRP still uses the car you selected in ABRP. BYD Connect does not overwrite that profile with a guessed model.
Frequently asked questions
Does the official BYD app sync to ABRP?
No first-party BYD-to-ABRP live-data link is offered in the official app. BYD Connect uses ABRP's documented Generic Live Data token.
Does ABRP sync work when my phone is off?
Yes, if the BYD account stays linked in BYD Connect. The server can sample the connected car and forward supported telemetry without the phone or browser being open.
Why was my ABRP token rejected?
The token may be mistyped, revoked, or copied from the wrong ABRP vehicle. Generate a new Generic token in ABRP and save it again. BYD Connect pauses pushes after ABRP rejects the token until you replace it.
Will ABRP learn my BYD consumption from this feed?
Not from power samples. BYD Connect does not send instantaneous kilowatts. ABRP still benefits from live SoC, GPS and range for the current plan.
Can I turn ABRP sync off?
Yes. Remove the token in BYD Connect Settings. That stops further telemetry. ABRP keeps any data it already received under its own terms.
